About White Ink Calligraphy + Co.
Claire White started White Ink Calligraphy in 2016 and quickly became one of Nashville’s most sought after calligraphers.  All of the calligraphy shown by White Ink is hand-lettered by Claire, in White Ink’s East Nashville studio.  Claire brought Townley White onto the White Ink team in 2020 to assist with graphic design and printing services.  Since 2020, White Ink has been a full service stationery and design studio, assisting their clients with one-of-a-kind invitations and event details.

Meet Claire: About White Ink Calligraphy + Co.

Claire White headshot

Claire White is the hand and heart behind White Ink Calligraphy + Co.  She started practicing pointed pen calligraphy in 2014, and her love for all things hand-lettered has continued to flourish (pun intended).  Her calligraphy has been showcased from local weddings to destination weddings, from small family gatherings, to large corporate events. She has taught calligraphy classes and traveled across the country to learn from the best in the industry. Her style of lettering is specific to her hand, providing formal and modern calligraphy styles.
White Ink was founded in 2016; and in 2020, Claire expanded White Ink’s services to include a full printing and design studio, bringing on her sister, Townley, as White Ink’s stationer.  As a team, Claire and Townley provide full service wedding and event details, from the save the date to the cocktail napkins sitting on the bar.
Claire is also an attorney, having practiced for 8 years prior to taking White Ink as her full time love.  She lives in East Nashville with her husband, Aaron, and her two sweet pups, Charlie and Remy.

Meet Townley

Townley White turns not only turns Claire’s calligraphy into pixels, she also provides full stationery services for White Ink clients.

Townley began digital designing in 2013 when she opened an Etsy shop, Townley Designs. After 3,000 digital design sales, she decided to join forces with Claire to create custom invitations utilizing custom calligraphy and her love of digital design.

Outside of stationery, Townley has a therapy practice in Nashville, where she lives with her husband, Mack, and son, Monroe. She enjoys spending time indoor cycling, curating fonts, planning the travel behind White ink and exercising her Bernedoodle, Louie!

Allow us to reintroduce ourselves 🤍

Claire, me! I’m the voice on this IG account.
Townley might pop in time to time, unwillingly 😂. If I make her do an IG reel, it’s never a voluntary situation.

We are sisters. Planners that work on multiple projects with us, or our local vendor friends, you see it and you get it! Clients that work with us from their save the dates to their final day-of details get a fun glimpse into it all from the first consultation to us cheering you on for the big day.

We have this whole balance thing; where our team knows that it’s okay if one of us is in panic mode; bc the other is chill, calm and collected. And then we swap back and forth. If both of us are not chill, then the studio is literally on fire 😂. Did a set of vintage stamps get delivered to my neighbor’s house? Maybe. I’ll be running up and down the street knocking on doors like a crazy person while Townley is relaxed, looking for a new supplier of this rare vintage postage our client can’t live without. Balance.

We grew up in a household of both parents being entrepreneurs - so our hustle and the freedom that comes with self-employment was instilled at a young age, whether we like to admit it or not.

We are Nashville natives; born and raised. We have historical ties to the Nashville wedding industry that some of our client’s parents and grandparents have mentioned. It’s truly a small town.

WHITE is our maiden names, which we both still carry. Hence, WHITE ink. Ironically, when I started White Ink about 9 years ago, Townley said DUH to this name when I was brainstorming it. And here we are today.

Anyway, if I keep going, next I’ll be sharing photos of us backpacking around the world. Until then, this new photo from @sarabill.photography fits the bill just perfectly. ❤️

“Florals? For spring? Groundbreaking.” but actually… when it’s a die-cut hydrangea moment, it kind of is.

Counting down to all the 2026 spring weddings bringing fresh color, thoughtful details, and paper that feels like art ❤️

Anyone can make something pretty. The details are what make it meaningful.

The custom cityscape of the nashville skyline that we included on the invitation, was carried through to the seating chart installation and die cut pocket on the menus. No AI here my friends. It’s so incredibly important to us that art stays free of AI - this artwork was done by hand, with pencil, and carried throughout this event celebrating fellow creatives.

Each guest experienced the seating chart installation, walking up the steps to find their escort card amongst the trees. Each escort card was die cut in the shape of a fig, with the guest name and table number in calligraphy. Menus were adorned with calligraphy as well. The bar menus and the table numbers pulled in fun materials for texture and depth. 💜
