Express Yourself: Incorporating Vintage, Modern, and Chic Elements for Your Boho Dream Wedding | Taylor + Jacob | 7.24.21

I like to think that I have been exceptionally lucky in getting to see the most amazing details that this wedding town has to offer. From striking floral arrangements to grand venues, White Ink is constantly wowed by the visions that our couples and fellow creatives have pieced together. Just when you think you’ve seen all things wedding, a couple like Taylor and Jacob come along and remind you that there is so much more to see!

Once again, White Ink returns to the remarkable Saint Elle venue which is known for its distinct modern features. Taylor and Jacob used the beauty of this setting to incorporate their own expressive and romantic styles in one of the dreamiest boho style weddings we have ever seen. Take a look at these photos to see some of our favorite moments from the day. (Peep the triangular arbor!)

Seating charts are a wedding reception’s hidden gem. They offer simplicity in an otherwise high energy setting. Your guests don’t have to worry about having to pick a spot for themselves and can enjoy the transition from cocktail hour to dining. White Ink LOVES seating charts because, for a calligrapher, the choice of canvas is seemingly unlimited. Look at how incredible our couple’s seating chart display was! I mean, calligraphy on VINTAGE VASES! This display is honestly one of the most impressive things I’ve gotten to put my touch on. We still can’t get over how fun this project was!

Another item White Ink prepared for Taylor and Jacob was signage displaying the “Order of Events” and the “Wedding Party.” The idea of keeping your guests informed this way is a personal favorite of mine. Another, favorite for the White Ink team is the adorable “Cards” box that we have recently added to our expansive rental collections. We love getting to customize this small but mighty feature for our lovely couples.

Taylor and Jacob were not shy when it came to choosing expressive, modern, boho and delightfully wild colors and florals for their big day. We are grateful for every couple that we get to work with, especially the ones that open our eyes to a wedding like we’ve never seen before. And we just can’t wait for more.

It’s Your Wedding, You Can Wow if You Want To! | Rachel + Derek | 10-1-21

It’s Your Wedding, You Can Wow if You Want To! | Rachel + Derek | 10-1-21

Most people have been to at least a handful of weddings in their lifetime. Weddings are something we all have in common whether we’ve attended as the guest, as part of the bridal party or as the couple. I think you understand when I say, weddings carry energy, an energy that is specific to each couple. There are a million different ways to celebrate your big day and they are all incredibly unique and special. At White Ink, some of our favorite celebrations come from weddings like Rachel and Derek’s. The energy was higher that the moonlit sky and we will never forget it!

Our bride, Rachel, was so fun to work with. She is a wedding, lifestyle, and boudoir photographer here in Nashville and knows how to shine in front of the lens! She and Derek were the perfect, most easy-going couple who really let their personality take over the details of their gorgeous wedding. My team and I had SO much fun putting together their invites. The colors were beautiful alone, but guests were wowed with a stunning print of the famous Bouguereau painting, “The Birth of Venus” as the envelope liner. I mean, I need more showstopping moments like this.

White Ink was also honored with the task of creating the head-table acrylic place cards. Rachel and Derek included the acrylic table numbers from the White Ink rental collection that always fit so perfectly no matter the décor of the event. Here’s something you never knew you needed for you wedding reception; cake flavor signage! So brilliant. We created the cake flavor sign for Rachel and Derek’s cake table and it worked like a charm. Perhaps this is something you might include in your next celebration?

After the gorgeous ceremony, Rachel’s reception outfit-change let everyone know it was time to celebrate! Between the live music, cascading florals, and breathtaking lighting, the energy of this wedding was always moving. A wedding that moved is the only way to describe it. And as the night moved, time stood still. Our memories from this day will be as sweet as champagne. Cheers!

Samantha + Graham | Long Hollow Gardens 2.19.22

Samantha + Graham | Long Hollow Gardens 2.19.22

Like the pop of a champagne cork, White Ink has burst into yet another wedding season. And we are ready for it! This is, hands down, our favorite time to really showcase what we love to do for our couples. Samantha and Graham were easily the sweetest bride and groom we’ve had the pleasure to work with. In fact, I took particular pride in getting to be a part of their big day because Samantha was a wedding planner once upon a time. She is a creative herself, so trusting White Ink with the finer details of her wedding was a great honor.

Today, Samantha and Graham are both teachers. They exude a perfect balance of love, humor, and comfort. That balance shone through during the entire process of creating the wedding details that were just right for them. We swoon for the blushing hues of these invitations! These colors poured beautifully into their wedding.

Can we all just take a moment to appreciate the beauty of gifting an engraved bottle to our grooms? A gift as bold as the sting of its contents but as delicate as the glass that holds it.

The event signage for the ceremony met the guests with subtle displays of rosy ombre tints. We love the gentleness that the signage added to the already gorgeous ambiance of chandeliers and cobble stone in Long Hollow Gardens’ Greenhouse venue.

Naturally, these dreamy colors jumped into the reception with these fun acrylic tabletop signs for Samantha and Graham’s seating chart, drink bar, and decadent chocolate bar! Now it’s a party!

After our couple and their guests danced the night away, everyone was free to take home a little piece of the evening with these adorable koozies! And to the happy couple, we couldn’t have said it better, “Cheers Ya’ll!”

Lucy & Gary | Union Station Hotel | Details are Everything | 1.18.20

Lucy & Gary | Union Station Hotel | Details are Everything | 1.18.20

The details that Lucy and Gary included in their BIG DAY were game changers. I’m sitting here looking through their photo gallery, and there are just SO MANY amazing photos. First, Lucy’s dress. I can’t. Second, Gary and his mom had an epic dance (so it appears, just looking through the photos)! The couple was married at the classic Union Station Hotel in downtown Nashville. Their ceremony and reception were both held in the hotel lobby, which is a stunner. So anyway, I’m here to share the details. It’s the bridesmaids’ duties to share their super cute images of their black floor length bridesmaid gowns; and family to share the sweet images of the flower girls. For me, I’m sharing the details that my future brides want to see!

This invitation suite was created using my spot calligraphy. Every line was hand lettered by ME, and then digitally reprinted. Spot calligraphy is always close to my heart – it ensures that the calligraphy on your invitation and envelopes MATCH; as well as the rest of the calligraphy used throughout! The emerald green envelope brings a modern touch to a very classic suite. Interested in Vintage Postage? The Little Postage House is my favorite source!

The wedding was planned by Erin Lynn Events, a wedding planner who lives in Nashville, but plans all over the country. I had the opportunity to drop by the setup for this event and see Erin in action!

FLORALS. Can we just take these florals in? Like let’s sit here and process them. Because they were stunners. Florals were done by Mary Love with Rosemary & Finch . Her work on the fireplace, come on. Also, Mary made sure that we popped some greenery on the welcome sign (something that is often overlooked when planning)!

John Myers Photography is the team behind the lens in these photos. I had the opportunity to pop in and say hi to Lucy when she was taking her portraits. This was actually my first time meeting John in person (AND Lucy for that matter!), we’ve been Instagram besties for awhile now.

Guests were welcomed at the entry of the lobby with a mirrored welcome sign. After the ceremony, guests grabbed their escort cards, which were done in gold calligraphy on ivory tented card stock. And the tables were dressed with my table number rentals.

The spot calligraphy used on the invitation suite was carried over to the wedding program.

A huge thank you to Lucy for being a part of the #whiteinkjacket movement! Not sure what this is all about. Be sure to CLICK HERE to read all about it. This project is so close to my heart! And Gary, stop being so precious 🙂

Lucy and Gary’s big day was the dreamiest. Classic and elegant with Nashville style. It’s always a pleasure to be a part of such a lovely event. xo – Claire

Allison + Berkley |Noelle Hotel Wedding | 1.4.20

Allison + Berkley |Noelle Hotel Wedding | 1.4.20

Allison & Berkley’s big day was the best start to my new year. Both the ceremony and reception were at the Noelle Hotel in downtown Nashville. I did the envelope calligraphy for a few special guests’ invitations. Darby Cards created their lovely invitation suite.

I was lucky enough to be able to be onsite for the set up of the ceremony and reception. Erin Pangerl, the wedding planner with Erin Lynn Events, is a dear friend of mine, and planned this gorgeous day. Her work speaks for itself. I always love making my “day of” delivery to the venue and getting to chat with my “friend-ors” (vendors who just HAPPEN to be amazing friends).

This was my first time having my work photographed by Rachel Denton Photography, I believe! Her work is absolutely stunning. I was just happy as a clam being onsite, I was able to chat with Rachel and her in her work mode.

These two tabletop signs are acrylic with gold painting on the back of the sign. The calligraphy is done on the front of the sign. Both of the acrylic tabletop easels are in my rental collection.

Allison & Berkley chose these table numbers from my rental collection. These table numbers are, in my personal opinion, the perfect addition to a tablescape with gold accents. The card stock inside the frame is handmade paper from Fabulous Fancy Pants , which has gold leafing and gold ink. Classic and simple. Now can we talk about these florals?

These florals! I can’t even! I was onsite when LMA Designs had JUST finished working their magic, and I was stunned in person, and can say that I’m equally stunned by looking at these images. The florals radiated in this space.

Card boxes are such a great way to elevate a drop spot for cards and gifts. You can literally buy these on Amazon – just be sure to search “Terrarium Box” – here is a quick link that I found from a simple search – Card Box, Amazon . This is definitely a wedding accessory that you could keep for years to come. I can tell you how to remove the ink and this would make the perfect jewelry box; terrarium; home accessory, etc. You get the idea!

From the envelope calligraphy, to the escort cards, Allison + Berkley picked out the sweetest details, while keeping everything clean and vibrant. To Allison and Berkley, thank you for letting my work be a part of your gorgeous day.
