Kate and Alex’s spring garden wedding at The Sewanee Inn felt effortless and cohesive as we worked hard to ensure all the details worked together to create a flawless experience and visual for guests. Soft spring hues, romantic florals, and breathtaking views all came together to create a celebration that felt fresh and romantic. As we were working on the details of this wedding, we discovered that the bride works at the same hospital as Townley’s husband. We are always amazed at what a small world it is!
The couple exchanged vows at Kate’s family cabin in Sewanee, TN. The rolling Tennessee hills created the most incredible backdrop for their ceremony before heading to The Sewanee Inn for the reception. Paired with peach and blush florals, the entire day felt like a romantic spring garden brought to life.
Spring Invitation Suite and Custom Envelope Liner
Kate and Alex’s invitation suite immediately introduced guests to the beauty that awaited them. Their letterpress invitation was paired with paper pieces in soft shades of sage green, dusty blue, and blush pink. This fresh spring palette was used in other details of the day.
One of our favorite elements was the custom envelope liner featuring an illustration of the beautiful Tennessee landscape where the couple would exchange vows. This beautiful artwork became the visual thread that connected to many other wedding details.
One of our favorite ways to create a cohesive guest experience is by carrying elements from the invitation suite into the wedding day details. For Kate and Alex, we incorporated the illustrated landscape from the envelope liner into both the welcome sign and the bar menu, using a muted version of the artwork behind the lettering. These subtle details created continuity that guests notice and appreciate.
We also designed the phone-free ceremony sign in the same soft green color found in the invitation suite. Classic white ceremony programs welcomed guests as they found their seats at the hilltop ceremony, which was absolutely breathtaking.
With stunning views and lush floral installations by Rosemary & Finch, the setting hardly needed any embellishment. The romantic arrangements of peach, blush, and soft pink blooms elevated the ceremony while allowing the natural beauty to remain the star of the show.
A Floral Bouquet Seating Chart
Inside the reception at The Sewanee Inn, guests discovered a beautiful floral bouquet seating chart. A white tablecloth with a light green foliage print anchored the design as fresh spring blooms in shades of peach and blush covered the table. Nestled among the flowers were the white seating assignment cards with light green lettering.
Enchanting Garden Tablescape
After finding their seats, guests sat down to round, light green menus with their name written in calligraphy directly on the menu. The circular shape of the menu allowed it to sit perfectly on the woven style plate. Coordinating table numbers in gold holders sat at each table as more stunning spring flowers lined the center. It created the feeling of dining in an elegant spring garden and had such a soft, romantic vibe.
For cocktail hour, we designed custom napkins featuring an adorable sketch of the couple’s dog alongside the words, “I do, too,” and their wedding date. It was such a playful way to include their beloved pup in the celebration.
We also created custom matchboxes personalized with the couple’s names and wedding date. This timeless favor allowed guests to take home a keepsake from the weekend.
Kate and Alex’s wedding perfectly illustrates how thoughtful design creates a memorable experience for all.

The intentional wedding details from Ella and Connor’s Southall Farm & Inn wedding in Franklin, TN was the definition of thoughtful design. Every element was created with purpose. It wasn’t just to look pretty, but to create moments their guests would remember long after the wedding ended. I love that they valued and were all about intentionality. Everything they dreamed up, from a custom bar and dance floor, to bespoke details like interactive guest menus, we were able to create. The best part was that these moments and details felt true to them AND were unforgettable to their guests.
This celebration proved that intentional design truly elevates the wedding experience. If we’ve said it once, we’ve said it a thousand times, details matter. And this wedding was filled with them. The experience began with the invitations that set the tone. Everything else that followed tied the theme and their vision together.
An Invitation Suite That Set the Tone
First, let’s have a moment for these invitations. With a blind letterpress venue illustration of Southall Farm & Inn at the bottom of the main invite, these became more than just pieces of paper. They created a moment where guests could envision what was to come. We paired the suite with a vellum gatefold, a custom floral envelope liner, and a gold wax seal, creating a layered, tactile experience that felt elevated from the moment it was opened.
Since many guests were staying on property, we also designed custom welcome bags for their arrival. Delivering them turned into one of those behind-the-scenes moments we love most, as I ran into the groom while dropping them off and finally got to meet him in person for the first time.
A Seating Chart With Meaning
The custom seating chart was more than functional; it told a story. The sage green seating chart wall featured gold hooks with tags, tassels and a vintage key. The double-sided tag featured guests table assignment on one side and on the other, was a note to the guest to join the newlyweds for a private after party at a speakeasy. The key on the tag was a subtle nod to the location.
Cocktail Hour Details
For cocktail hour, we designed custom cocktail napkins in a fun tweed print. A fabric bar sign anchored the space, softening the bar design while reinforcing the refined, organic feel of the reception.
Fabric details continued to make a statement throughout the space, including FABRIC TABLE NUMBERS. This was our first time doing these and we are obsessed with how they turned out on the table. The tablescape was already stunning, and these fabric table numbers fit in beautiful with the already natural, elevated setting.
Menus + Place Cards That Stole the Show
If menus set the vibe, calligraphed place cards just elevate everything.
Connor and Ella’s interactive guest menus opened like a gatefold. Then, wrapped around each menu was a calligraphed place card, featuring both the guest’s name and their meal selection, creating a MOMENT for each guest as they sat down. It is these types of personal and intentional details that make an impact on your wedding day. I love that Ella and Connor not only understood that, but made it a major part of their vision.
Congratulations to this amazing couple and thank you for allowing us to create these meaningful details for your beautiful wedding!

Connor and Ella’s Southall Farm & Inn wedding is a beautiful reminder that when design is rooted in intention, the result isn’t just stunning, it’s unforgettable.

Spring is always a season of renewal, vibrancy, and fresh inspiration—so what better way to welcome it than with a Spring Fling event designed specifically for wedding planners? This incredible planner showcase at the Four Seasons Nashville was a true celebration of creativity, and White Ink Calligraphy was honored to provide custom-designed event details that elevated the entire experience.
This event was extra special because our team was the only non-planner vendor invited to attend who also helped bring the vision to life! With a guest list full of wedding planners from across the country, it was a privilege to create meaningful details for the industry’s best. Seeing our work in action at the event itself was an unforgettable experience. Also, it was an absolute blast!
Custom Bold + Playful Spring Fling Invitation Suite
The event planner, Invision Events, sent over a mood board filled with bold colors and fun prints, and we instantly fell in love with the playful vibe. We carried that energyinto every detail we created, starting with a standout invitation suite.
The suite featured a striking vibrant green and bold red color palette. The invitation itself and the leopard print design on the back was letter-pressed, which made it feel extra luxurious. We also added a fierce leopard design to the envelope liner for a fun, unexpected touch. Since leopards were a key part of the planner’s original mood board, we knew we had to incorporate them throughout the event in creative ways! To tie the entire suite together, we used a pink ribbon with a green center seal reading “Spring Fling.” This playful detail set the tone for the event before guests even arrived, as they knew they were in for something special!
A Statement-Worthy Photo Op Display
One of the biggest showstoppers of the event was the Spring Fling photo op sign. It was a true labor of love! I personally hand-painted all the leopard dots and doodle lines, making it one of the most unique and interactive details of the event.
A plush orange couch for guests to pose on and gorgeous florals framing the install completed the gorgeous display. Seeing guests light up as they saw it and then posed for photos made all the effort completely worth it!
Custom Cocktail Napkins & Bar Signage
Our design contributions didn’t stop there! We carried the bold, fun details into the cocktail napkins and bar signage as well.
For the Cocktail Napkins, we created two custom designs. One was a white napkin with “Spring Fling” written in soft pink, mirroring the invitation suite’s font. The other napkin was a bold orange color featuring the same leopard design from the envelope liner, printed in crisp white.
When it came to the bar signage, we mimicked the envelope liner by using a black background with the leopards! The signature drinks were listed in orange calligraphy on a white background to make it stand out from the fun, black leopard design. However, to make it even more cohesive, we cut the white background in the same unique shape as the details card from the invitation suite!
Custom Name Tags
No detail was left untouched! To tie everything together, we created custom name tags for each guest. These tags pulled inspiration from the back of the letter-pressed invitation suite, featuring a subtle leopard print pattern with guest names in orange calligraphy. It was a wonderful way to highlight the colors and theme of this amazing event.
A Spring Fling to Remember
This Spring Fling event was truly an unforgettable way to kick off the season in style. The mix of bold colors, playful patterns, and creative touches made it a fun and memorable project to work on. We loved every second of bringing these details to life! Getting to design for fellow industry professionals and then celebrate alongside them was the icing on the cake!

White Ink delivers details for a one-of-a-kind Nashville rehearsal dinner.
Rehearsal dinners serve as the ultimate prelude to a couple’s big day. After a day of rehearsing for the upcoming nuptials, sitting down with your wedding party to share a meal and even a drink or two is the perfect way to properly welcome those who have played a huge part in your journey to the altar.
A rehearsal dinner is a great opportunity to enjoy a more intimate setting with those closest to you. It’s also a time when you can really dig your heels into tailoring a moment that boasts your personal style.
White Ink couple, Mollie and Ben, invited their wedding party to enjoy a rehearsal dinner at Nashville’s wildly popular Boqueria, a Barcelona-style tapas bar located on Broadway directly across from Nashville’s iconic Ryman Auditorium.
They asked us to join in on the fun with some custom details that put a spotlight on the friendly and fun atmosphere that the night embodied. It was an absolute honor to take part in “The Night Before.”
Want to know what’s gaining popularity with paper goods? Custom fonts! Calligraphy is in our name, but there’s a lot more to our game. As a full-service stationery studio, we love offering our couples a wide range of event details, including fonts that aren’t hand-lettered.
For their rehearsal dinner invitations, Mollie and Ben chose this super fun font we call “Doodles.” To me, this script says, “quiet luxury.” It’s understated, but still has a fun way of pulling together the couple’s personal style and the Nashville vibe.
The best part is that wedding party guests would get to enjoy this custom design throughout the night as we incorporated “doodles” on other event details!
Custom Rehearsal Dinner Signage
“Welcome to the night before.” Mollie and Ben’s rehearsal dinner welcome sign was such a vibe inviting guests to come and enjoy an intimate evening with those closest to them. Here you can see the “doodles” font used in “the night before”. I also really love it when signage like this is styled with florals that represent the season. This welcome sign looked perfect situated among a bed of summery wildflowers!
Our couple took this Nashville-themed dinner to the next level by including sketches of legendary country music greats on the rehearsal dinner seating chart and table numbers. Each table number represented an artist such as Dolly Parton, Hank Williams, Patsy Cline, Johnny Cash, and the like.
Guestbook and bar menu signage also tied the theme together with their custom script, showing wedding party guests that each detail was thoughtfully placed.
There are numerous ways to elevate the theme of an event. And rehearsal dinners have a special way of allowing couples to personalize their details in a deeper more meaningful way.
Cocktail Napkins and Drink Stirrers
We can put the White Ink touch on just about any detail and design for a couple’s event. This includes happy hour!
Check out these adorable custom designed cocktail napkins and drink stirrers. It may seem like a small gesture, but putting thought into an item like a napkin can really make a big impression! Not only are custom cocktail napkins a popular detail, but they are also an instant conversation starter. *Peep more of that super cute “doodles” font*
Custom Rehearsal Dinner Menu
If rehearsal dinner is going to be at a famous tapas bar, you’ve got to have an incredible tapas menu for guests to enjoy! We had a lot of fun creating Mollie and Ben’s custom rehearsal dinner menus. The blue hue and custom doodles font complimented the rehearsal dinner invites that guests received. Such a perfect example of tying together details throughout an event.
From invitations to signage, to cocktail napkins and more, Mollie and Ben took the opportunity to tailor their rehearsal dinner in a way that spoke to their style as well as the city where they would begin their journey into forever.
Rehearsal dinners are where couples take the time to show gratitude to those who have joined around them to support them and their union.
Looking around at all of the familiar, smiling faces can give a bride and groom the boost they need as they prepare to walk down the aisle. It’s a rehearsal to remember, and we are so happy to be a part of it.

Perhaps the most important element of a couple’s custom wedding invitation suite is the storytelling. In the same way a movie preview prepares viewers for a film, custom designed invites serve as a powerful glimpse into what the guests can expect from the bride and groom’s big day.
Custom Wedding Invitation Suite
After years of crafting and designing invitations for our White Ink couples, we’ve developed a keen awareness of this unique storytelling. Helping clients incorporate themes, colors, and a bit of their personalities into their invites is something we simply delight in.
It was an honor having the opportunity to do just that for White Ink couple, Kelsey and Alex. Designing their custom wedding invitation suite was so fun! I’m beyond excited to finally share this amazing suite with all of you.
“Creating a strong perception of the beautiful and loving celebration we are throwing!”
– Kelsey and Alex
Urban Garden Party Theme
Undoubtedly, one of the best parts about working with Kelsey and Alex was how well they communicated to us exactly what they wanted their invites to reflect. The overall vision for their invitation suite was Urban Garden Party.
In order to make this vision a reality, we incorporated vibrant colors, like summer pinks and crisp greens, with modern elements like custom die-cut pockets. This allowed contemporary, industrial chic to meet seamlessly with the classic garden party theme. The result was gorgeous!
Talk about attention to detail! Kelsey and Alex took customizing their invites to the next level! They included a custom architectural sketch of their wedding venue, Brooklyn’s historic Wythe Hotel in New York, on the invitation. What’s even more amazing is that the very pattern used on the envelope liner is the same pattern from the tile on the floor of the Wythe Hotel! Can we say obsessed?! These are the little details that we love to incorporate into your invitations to tell your unique story.
While discussing their invitation vision with our team, Kelsey and Alex noted that the most important aspect of their wedding invites was, “Incorporating imagery of the venue and creating a strong perception of the beautiful and loving celebration we are throwing!”. I think it’s safe to say, they absolutely nailed it!
Let’s Talk about the Details.
Here are some of our favorite details from Kelsey and Alex’s custom wedding invitation suite.
We used digital printing for this invitation suite. This helps to efficiently transfer custom tones, colors and fonts making each invite equally vibrant.
A custom shaped die-cut was used to create the pocket within the suite adding a notable tone of modern sophistication.
A custom architectural sketch of the wedding venue, the Wythe Hotel in Brooklyn, New York, peeked out from the corner of the invitation sleeve.
The pattern used for the envelope liner was specifically designed to mimic the pattern seen on the floor of the Wythe Hotel.
Custom envelope calligraphy was used for addresses. – always a guest favorite!
Vibrant, summer floral postage to pair with the theme of the invitation suite.
Giving our brides and grooms a space to bring in their creativity and personality is the most rewarding part of what we do. They are the storyteller giving their guests a sneak peek into what’s ahead by adding the delicate details of their favorite colors, favorite seasons, favorite places, and styles to a customized wedding invitation suite.

If you’re looking for what’s trending in Save the Date projects- you’ll love this.
Save the Date announcements have become a true wedding essential in recent years. At White Ink, we’ve seen (and created) just about every design idea there is for these powerful pre-invites. However, just when we think we’ve done it all, we design something new! The White Ink Team recently designed our newest and instantly popular Save the Date creation that has everyone saying, “We want that!”
Our custom photo strip magnet Save the Date serves the usual, functional purpose of not only letting your guests know that they’re on the wedding invite list, but also giving guests the courtesy of marking their calendars for the big day.
The heart-warming twist for these new favorites is getting to personalize them with an adorable photo booth-style, magnetic photo strip. The photo strips embrace the classic, time-honored tradition that we’ve seen so many couples take part in, past and present.
These particular save the dates go beyond the typical announcement with its detachable, magnetic photo strip of the bride and groom-to-be. We attach the photo strip to cardstock paper with custom photo corners, so that guests can easily remove the magnet without tearing up the cardstock.
Each Save the Date envelope has your guest’s address printed on the front and the return address placed on the back flap of the envelope, giving it that clean and chic look we all love to see.
Create Your Own Photo Strip Magnet Save the Date: What You’ll Need
Just give us the time and the photos and we’ll take it from there!
The best part about getting your hands on these new save the dates is that you don’t actually have to hunt down a photo booth to get your custom photo strip. All we need are four of your favorite couples’ photos and we will create the photo booth-style photo strip magnet for you!
Let us know your style. Every couple is different when it comes to creating and customizing their Save the Date. Some choose to let their photo strip magnet be the star of the show and keep the front of the card simple, placing wedding details and QR codes on the back of the cardstock. Some couples opt for wedding details to be front and center alongside their photo strip magnet. It’s all about what you want!
