When it comes to designing for industry events, there’s an added layer of intention. Every detail matters, every texture is noticed, and every moment is an opportunity to inspire. At its heart, the evening was about inspiring creativity and making space for vendors to connect, collaborate, and celebrate one another. Needless to say, it was a true honor to plan and design elevated event details for the 2nd Annual Wipa Nashville Gala at 1 Hotel Nashville.
This luxury hotel was the perfect location to hold this epic event. The design brought bold color into the organic environment the hotel is known for, creating an atmosphere that felt both vibrant and welcoming. The theme, Lush Hues and Lavish Views, set the tone for a vibrant, layered, and immersive design experience. At White Ink Calligraphy + Co, we had the honor of bringing that vision to life through the details we created.
Invitations with a City View
The invitation suite introduced guests to the evening before they ever stepped foot inside the space. This is always our goal when creating custom paper invitations for weddings. In fact one of my favorite parts of my job is hearing our clients tell us all the amazing feedback they got from their guests after receiving an unexpected invitation that WOWS. We wanted our industry friends to experience that same dopamine hit wedding guests get when receiving beautiful invitations in the mail.
Let me just say: Goal accomplished! This is why paper is so important. This is why the invitation sets the tone for the event day. Sometimes, you just have to experience it, to get it.
For this event invite, a rich purple backdrop with a delicate white sketch of the Nashville skyline added a refined, architectural element. The event title, Lush Hues and Lavish Views, was written in shimmering silver calligraphy, catching the light in a way that felt both celebratory and elevated. It was the perfect balance of color and fine detail, a preview of what was to come.
The custom cityscape of the Nashville skyline that was central to the event design was included on the invitation, the seating chart installation, and the die cut pocket on the menus. As always, all the artwork was done by hand – not shortcuts here. It was such an honor to bring this theme to life and carry it throughout this event celebrating fellow Nashville wedding professionals.
Menus with a Personalized Touch
At each place setting, guests found menus that doubled as place cards, featuring their names handwritten in calligraphy at the top and tucked into a custom die-cut pocket featuring a sketch of the cityscape of Nashville. These kinds of details invite guests to slow down, look closer, and truly experience the design. These purple menus looked amazing at each place setting.
The tablescapes were a work of art. With stunning floral arrangements, intentional linens, purple glassware, and the royal purple table numbers we created in a fun material, it was a sight to behold.
Fig Shaped Escort Cards and Interactive Seating Chart
One of the most playful and visually striking installations of the evening was the escort card display. Each guest experienced the seating chart installation, walking up the steps to find their escort card amongst the trees. Each escort card was die cut in the shape of a fig, with the guest name and table number in calligraphy. The organic movement of the cards, paired with their unexpected shape, created a moment that felt immersive and artful. The trees framed a large arch display of the Nashville Skyline, which mimicked the design of the bar signage we also created.
Statement Bar Signage
The bar signage featured semi-circle acrylic designs in custom colors that tied seamlessly into the event palette. Each piece incorporated a stylized Nashville cityscape, reinforcing the visual story throughout the space. The curved shapes softened the overall look while still feeling modern and bold, a perfect complement to the venue’s aesthetic.
While guests grabbed a drink at the bar, they could also grab one of the cocktail napkins or matchbooks we designed. For the cocktail napkins, we had two designs. One in a bright green hue that featured the event theme, Lush Hues and Lavish Views, on it, adding a vibrant pop of color. The second napkin design was a soft lavender color that showcased a delicate line sketch of the Nashville skyline, tying back to the invitation suite.
Next to the napkins in a bowl, were the light purple matchbooks that carried the event branding, offering guests a stylish and functional keepsake from the evening. Each element worked together to create a layered, cohesive design story that felt intentional from start to finish.
Custom Onsite Engraving Experience
To make the evening even more memorable, we brought in a live engraving station, which is one of our favorite ways to elevate a guest experience.
Attendees received compact mirrors engraved on-site, creating a personalized keepsake they could take home. Watching the engraving process unfold added an interactive element to the event, while the finished pieces felt thoughtful, elevated, and truly one-of-a-kind.
Immersive Design Experience
The WIPA Nashville Gala at 1 Hotel was a celebration of creativity, community, and elevated design. The Lush Hues & Lavish Views brought in creative design elements that were thoughtfully woven through the day creating an immersive experience for all in attendance. Seeing the joy on everyone’s face as they witnessed the various day-of event details was a highlight. It was truly an honor to be a part of such an amazing event for such a wonderful group of professionals. The wedding industry in the Southeast is filled with incredibly talented people, and I’m so grateful to be part of a community that continues to inspire me every day.

Kansas and Don’s wedding at Diamond Creek Farm in Nashville was filled with intentional, elegant, and meaningful design moments. As a full-service wedding design house, it was such a joy to bring their vision to life and create custom signage and details for their special day.
Kansas was a stunning bride. Her off-shoulder wedding dress featured long-sleeves and intricate lace details . What I loved even more though, was that the bride is a florist. I absolutely love working with fellow creatives, as they appreciate things like texture, composition, and detail on a deeper level. Kansas brought such thoughtful intention to every element, and together we created pieces that felt refined yet personal.
Custom Ceremony & Welcome Signage
Guests were greeted as they arrived at Diamond Creek Farm by a frosted glass welcome sign framed in gold and featuring soft white calligraphy. There’s something about frosted glass that feels elevated and romantic. The welcome sign was framed by soft florals that further elevated the entire installation.
Displayed at the ceremony was a custom sign reading “Pick a seat, not a side! You are loved by both the groom & Bride.” This simple phrase set such a warm tone and emphasized the value Kansas and Don place on unity and togetherness. We also designed a cloth wedding sign that made for a great photo background for the bride and groom.
The Seating Chart Installation
After a touching ceremony, guests could find their seating assignment from the white seating chart columns. I love the clean, architectural, and timeless design we were able to create with these. For this installation we collaborated with Blue Fish Event Rentals, which is always such a treat. They do amazing work and our partnership allows us to dream bigger and execute seamlessly. The crisp black calligraphy against the white columns felt modern yet classic, perfectly complementing the overall aesthetic of the day.
Elevated Reception Details
The reception design layered texture, color, and movement in thoughtful ways. We designed the acrylic bar signage in a plum color with white calligraphy.
At the tables, white place cards identified each guest’s seat and had ribbons attached in different colors to indicate meal selections-a functional and beautiful addition!
The custom menus we designed featured a black vellum overlay adorned with pink florals and secured by a gold pin that allowed guests to gently spin the overlay upward to reveal the menu beneath. Interactive details like this create a tactile experience, which are always my favorite.
Lastly, stone table numbers brought an organic, textural element to the already beautiful tablescape.
Handmade Paper with Personal Touches
A fun detail we created were the handmade paper displays that featured fun facts about Kansas and Don, which sat at the head table. It’s these unexpected, and fun details that guests remember and truly make the day yours.
Kansas and Don’s wedding is such a beautiful example of what happens when every detail is thoughtfully designed and intentionally placed. I am so excited to share the details from this timeless black and white wedding at The Trillium Venue in East Tennessee. There is so much to love about this wedding, from the breathtaking views of the Great Smoky Mountains to the detailed artwork and wine seating chart we had the joy of designing. This wedding had a modern, romantic vibe that paired effortlessly with the venue’s architecture, floor-to-ceiling windows, and panoramic backdrop. It’s easy to see why Kaitlan and Michael chose The Trillium as the setting for their gorgeous wedding day.
We had the honor of designing the couple’s custom invitations and day-of wedding details. Every element reflected the elegant, timeless, and classic vision they had for their day.
Black and White Invitation Suite with Custom Artwork
The invitation suite was truly a work of art. Designed in a classic black-and-white palette, the suite featured elegant typography and a custom details card with artwork of significant places from the couple’s wedding weekend.
We designed artwork of The Pines, the charming venue where the rehearsal dinner took place, and The Trillium, where their wedding day unfolded. The event timeline included playful illustrations for food, cocktails, music, and more, giving guests a preview of all that was to come.
A sleek black band held the suite together featuring the couple’s names and wedding date in white. It was simple, refined, and elevated and just like the celebration itself. I love how this wedding invitation set the tone for their wedding day.
Wine-Inspired Seating Chart
One of our favorite details was the wine bottle seating chart wall, inspired by the bride’s vision. She expressed early on that she dreamed of having a wine seating chart. And we always try to make our clients’ dreams a reality! To make her vision to come to life, we designed and created a packable display that could be transported from Nashville to East Tennessee.
The bride’s father and the groom came to pick up the display before the wedding day, and you could tell it was bonding time for them! They were the absolute sweetest. The father of the bride even shared a little about his upcoming speech for the wedding leaving us all teary-eyed!
At the wedding, the display featured three rows of three sleek black shelves mounted on a crisp white wall. The nine wine bottles featured each guest’s name in alphabetical order along with their assigned on a custom wine label. Greenery was woven throughout the display for a natural, romantic finish. Beside it stood a clean white title sign with the couple’s last name, The Hauns, and the words “Please Be Seated” in classic black lettering.
Day-of Details: Wedding Signage
Every detail carried through the couple’s timeless aesthetic. Greeting guests with elegance was the wedding welcome sign, which was a gold-framed mirrored sign featuring “Forever Starts Here” in white calligraphy at the top, along with the couple’s names and wedding date at the bottom.
We also created two different bar signs. One was a modern black acrylic sign that listed available drink options in white lettering, keeping things sleek.
The other was a white specialty cocktail sign with black lettering and illustrations of the couple’s signature drinks, which included an Espresso Martini, Old Fashioned, and Blackberry Lemonade.
Timeless Black and White Wedding Details
The Trillium Venue is truly stunning inside and out. Even from inside, guests can still take in the scenic mountain views through the floor-to-ceiling windows.
The tablescapes at the reception wove their timeless black and white theme with crisp white napkins sitting atop black plates. black place cards with white calligraphy created a striking contrast. White floral centerpieces and flickering candlelight elevated the romance of the setting.
Every piece of stationery and signage was designed to reflect the couple’s elegant and classic vision, while also including a touch of personality. Weaving in custom details throughout their wedding day added personality, shared their story, and set the stage for a truly unforgettable wedding day.

Nashville is home to many amazing wedding venues, but this luxury lakeside venue sitting on 15 beautiful acres is one of my top favorites. The Claybrooks’ luxurious fall wedding at Cherokee Docks combined romantic elegance with interactive fun. Personalized touches and breathtaking details filled the entire weekend, and we were honored to play a part in it all.
We worked closely with the fabulous mother of the bride, Kelly, who planned every last detail of her daughter’s big day with care and intention. Kelly truly had a vision, and bringing that to life through elegant invitations and paper goods, custom signage, and unforgettable installations was such a joy for our team!
Custom Sketches for an Elegant Invitation Suite
Guests were first introduced to the weekend with a custom save the date featuring an engagement photo underneath a vellum overlay with the event details printed on top. Held together with a gold grommet, this piece was an interactive and modern way to include a photo while keeping the aesthetic cohesive and timeless. The couple’s invitation suite was a perfect reflection of their classic style. We created a soft, romantic white invitation that featured delicate florals surrounding the couple’s monogram. A custom sketch of the Cherokee Dock venue on the wrap that held the invitation suite pieces together was my favorite detail. It completely elevated the suite! I just love slipping in little details and hints about the wedding day to guests.
To kick off the weekend, we also designed a welcome party invitation featuring a sketch of the General Jackson Showboat, giving guests a peek at the fun to come. From beginning to end, each paper piece was designed to build anticipation and set the tone for the weekend.
Ceremony Details
The ceremony wasn’t without its own beautiful paper moments. Guests received newspaper-style fan programs, which doubled as a ceremony timeline and a creative way to showcase an engagement photo. These charming, multi-purpose programs were a total win on a warm fall day.
Then there was the ceremony itself which took place outside by the water. Between the leaves changing colors, the sunlight hitting the water, and the beautiful couple so excited to be married, there was so much to love about this wedding,
Interactive Details Guests Will Never Forget
This wedding was full of beautiful, classic moments, but it also had some fun surprises! We loved bringing a little playfulness to the design while still keeping things elevated.
Our favorite feature of the day? A 20-foot cocktail pass-through wall, which is our largest installation to date! This statement piece displayed the seating chart alongside three signature cocktail options. Guests would ring a bell, and a white-gloved bartender on the other side would pass their drink through the wall. It was interactive, elegant, and such a highlight of the evening (a little birdie, aka the MOB, told us it was a MAJOR guest favorite!)
Day of Details
We also had the honor of creating many other day of details that fit flawlessly into their wedding day vision. Guests were greeted by a sleek, black acrylic welcome sign with white calligraphy. It looked so good surrounded by candle light reflecting off the glass. The bar signage and the black acrylic bourbon bar sign were two other reception details we had our hand in creating!
The details didn’t stop there though! Custom foam drink toppers for the espresso martinis (yes, the details even made it to the cocktails!) included their monogram with their last name and wedding date!
Guests could also grab a refreshing bottle of Fiji water that featured a custom sketch of their beloved dog, Scout, on the label. I love weaving fun and personal details into a wedding day in unique ways. The reception space was stunning with spherical chandeliers and greenery draped from the ceiling. At each table setting there were classic, black place cards in white calligraphy that corresponded with the grand seating chart.
Every single touchpoint of The Claybrooks’ wedding weekend, from the save the dates to the cocktail wall and seating chart, was designed with intention. We were thrilled to help Kelly and her family bring it to life. It’s weddings like this that remind us why we love what we do.

Fixed among the serene beauty of rural Franklin, TN, Southall Farm & Inn lent itself to one of the most gently breathtaking weddings we’ve been a part of. White Ink couple, Lauren and John, allowed us to create custom spring wedding details for their incredible wedding day and we were honored to do it.
Classic Invitation Suite
Coming in on the heels of spring, just before the summer wedding season, this special day proved to be perfect in so many ways. We began with designing Lauren and John’s impressive and quintessentially classic invitation suite. There is a notable balance of boldness and delicacy as the envelope liner with a print of the gorgeous foothills of the Southall venue jumps right off the paper while the vellum sleeve softly wraps around the classic letterpressed invitation. A perfectly placed, dusty-rose, wax seal to close the vellum wrap added an extra charm that effortlessly tied the suite together. It really was the perfect invite.
Notice that the custom wax seal not only matched the dusty rose color of the RSVP card, but it also boasts florals to match the ones found on the vellum wrap. There is nothing that elevates a wedding like tying together details throughout!
From the bride’s bouquet to a cascade of florals used for the arbor, we couldn’t get enough of the gorgeous flowers bursting through each part of this spring wedding!
Chic, sleek, and simple – the bar menu that we prepared for Lauren and John fit perfectly into the bar’s clean look and layered textures. Guests definitely enjoyed the inviting vibe of this delicious cocktail hour. How could you not?
We helped guests to their seats with a tastefully designed seating chart. I adore the soft gray lettering against the white signage as flower arrangements kissed the bottom of the chart. Florals and signage just go together, there’s just nothing else like it!
Custom Spring Wedding Details
One of the most exciting things for us at White Ink is when our couples request the “designer’s choice” for some of their details and signage. Sometimes, brides and grooms know exactly what they’re looking for with these types of details and decor. However, there are others who just aren’t sure what would look best. We LIVE for these moments! Not only is this what we do, but more than that, it means that our couples completely trust us and our experience.
Customized Wedding Reception Details
For Lauren and John, we were happy to flex our creative muscles to come up with these stunning table numbers for their reception. We surprised them with a frosted acrylic to match the vellum wrap we made for the invitations, as well as etched florals from the vellum wrap. We then mounted it against a laser-cut number in white acrylic to natural wood. Designer’s choice and a chef’s kiss.
Menus are another great opportunity for brides and grooms tie in special details. Lauren and John chose the same letter press wording and hue of that of their wedding invites.
These menus were simply made for this tablescape as they tucked effortlessly against the napkins and place settings. Never stealing the show, only elevating it.
Lauren and John were a delight to work with from start to finish! It was an honor to be a part of their big day. The couple ensured that every guest felt special, and that every detail mattered. Kayla and Caleb’s elevated Nashville Symphony wedding was an absolute dream! This picturesque event of classic and timeless details was something you just couldn’t take your eyes off of. From the gothic style architecture of Scarritt Bennett’s Wightman Chapel to the grandeur of Nashville’s Schermerhorn Symphony Center, there wasn’t a stone left unturned as Kayla and Caleb carefully placed together one of the best Nashville weddings White Ink has seen. We designed our couple’s wedding invitation suite to embody the elegance of their big day. A custom monogram delicately stood out on the beautiful card stock. I loved adding the extra touch of using a custom, monogram, gold, wax seal for the envelopes. These are small details that pack a big impression!

Elevated Nashville Symphony Wedding Reception
It’s hard to top the simple elegance a mirrored seating chart. I have always loved how the white lettering on the glass instantly elevates the beauty of this double-rib framed mirror. Kayla and Caleb styled this gorgeous seating chart with florals (always a good idea!) and surrounded it with glass vases holding floating candles. I can’t think of a better way to be invited to take my seat at a table in the opulent Schermerhorn. Divine!
The most elegant part to these custom designed reception menus is that each menu had the guests’ names calligraphed directly on to them. This is why I love what I do! I love when my couples give me the chance to really elevate the finer details of their reception. And yes, guests DO notice little things just like this and often appreciate the level of attention.
Custom Bar Signs and Cocktail Napkins
Kayla and Caleb went with one of my favorite bar signs from our rental collection. We customized the drink menu to fit with the style of all other day-of paper goods as well as the invitation suite. Also, please take a moment to gush over the print of their sweet pup, Cash, on the cocktail napkins! Cocktail napkins are the perfect moment to bring in something special or personal to your big day. And it’s a detail that will be cherished forever.
I think one of the most appreciated details of the evening were these adorable koozies that we customized for Kayla and Caleb! They once again took time to personalize an item that guests were able to use and enjoy. It was the perfect little koozie for guests to use with their drinks while they let loose on the Schermerhorn dance floor! I couldn’t love this more.
