Spring Garden Wedding Details at The Sewanee Inn

Spring Garden Wedding Details at The Sewanee Inn

Kate and Alex’s spring garden wedding at The Sewanee Inn felt effortless and cohesive as we worked hard to ensure all the details worked together to create a flawless experience and visual for guests. Soft spring hues, romantic florals, and breathtaking views all came together to create a celebration that felt fresh and romantic.  As we were working on the details of this wedding, we discovered that the bride works at the same hospital as Townley’s husband. We are always amazed at what a small world it is!

The couple exchanged vows at Kate’s family cabin in Sewanee, TN. The rolling Tennessee hills created the most incredible backdrop for their ceremony before heading to The Sewanee Inn for the reception. Paired with peach and blush florals, the entire day felt like a romantic spring garden brought to life.

Spring Invitation Suite and Custom Envelope Liner

Kate and Alex’s invitation suite immediately introduced guests to the beauty that awaited them. Their letterpress invitation was paired with paper pieces in soft shades of sage green, dusty blue, and blush pink. This fresh spring palette was used in other details of the day.

One of our favorite elements was the custom envelope liner featuring an illustration of the beautiful Tennessee landscape where the couple would exchange vows. This beautiful artwork became the visual thread that connected to many other wedding details.

One of our favorite ways to create a cohesive guest experience is by carrying elements from the invitation suite into the wedding day details. For Kate and Alex, we incorporated the illustrated landscape from the envelope liner into both the welcome sign and the bar menu, using a muted version of the artwork behind the lettering. These subtle details created continuity that guests notice and appreciate.

We also designed the phone-free ceremony sign in the same soft green color found in the invitation suite. Classic white ceremony programs welcomed guests as they found their seats at the hilltop ceremony, which was absolutely breathtaking.

With stunning views and lush floral installations by Rosemary & Finch, the setting hardly needed any embellishment. The romantic arrangements of peach, blush, and soft pink blooms elevated the ceremony while allowing the natural beauty to remain the star of the show.

A Floral Bouquet Seating Chart

Inside the reception at The Sewanee Inn, guests discovered a beautiful floral bouquet seating chart. A white tablecloth with a light green foliage print anchored the design as fresh spring blooms in shades of peach and blush covered the table. Nestled among the flowers were the white seating assignment cards with light green lettering.

Enchanting Garden Tablescape

After finding their seats, guests sat down to round, light green menus with their name written in calligraphy directly on the menu. The circular shape of the menu allowed it to sit perfectly on the woven style plate. Coordinating table numbers in gold holders sat at each table as more stunning spring flowers lined the center. It created the feeling of dining in an elegant spring garden and had such a soft, romantic vibe.

circular green menus with guest names written in calligraphy directly on menu

For cocktail hour, we designed custom napkins featuring an adorable sketch of the couple’s dog alongside the words, “I do, too,” and their wedding date. It was such a playful way to include their beloved pup in the celebration.

We also created custom matchboxes personalized with the couple’s names and wedding date. This timeless favor allowed guests to take home a keepsake from the weekend.

Kate and Alex’s wedding perfectly illustrates how thoughtful design creates a memorable experience for all.

At White Ink Calligraphy + Co, we love creating weddings where every element tells a story and is connected to a bigger vision. When invitations, signage, and other custom details all work together, they become part of the experience your guests will remember long after the wedding day.

When it comes to designing for industry events, there’s an added layer of intention. Every detail matters, every texture is noticed, and every moment is an opportunity to inspire. At its heart, the evening was about inspiring creativity and making space for vendors to connect, collaborate, and celebrate one another. Needless to say, it was a true honor to plan and design elevated event details for the 2nd Annual Wipa Nashville Gala at 1 Hotel Nashville.

This luxury hotel was the perfect location to hold this epic event. The design brought bold color into the organic environment the hotel is known for, creating an atmosphere that felt both vibrant and welcoming. The theme, Lush Hues and Lavish Views, set the tone for a vibrant, layered, and immersive design experience. At White Ink Calligraphy + Co, we had the honor of bringing that vision to life through the details we created.

Invitations with a City View

The invitation suite introduced guests to the evening before they ever stepped foot inside the space. This is always our goal when creating custom paper invitations for weddings. In fact one of my favorite parts of my job is hearing our clients tell us all the amazing feedback they got from their guests after receiving an unexpected invitation that WOWS. We wanted our industry friends to experience that same dopamine hit wedding guests get when receiving beautiful invitations in the mail.

Let me just say: Goal accomplished!  This is why paper is so important. This is why the invitation sets the tone for the event day. Sometimes, you just have to experience it, to get it.

For this event invite, a rich purple backdrop with a delicate white sketch of the Nashville skyline added a refined, architectural element. The event title, Lush Hues and Lavish Views, was written in shimmering silver calligraphy, catching the light in a way that felt both celebratory and elevated. It was the perfect balance of color and fine detail, a preview of what was to come.

The custom cityscape of the Nashville skyline that was central to the event design was included on the invitation, the seating chart installation, and the die cut pocket on the menus. As always, all the artwork was done by hand – not shortcuts here. It was such an honor to bring this theme to life and carry it throughout this event celebrating fellow Nashville wedding professionals.

Menus with a Personalized Touch

At each place setting, guests found menus that doubled as place cards, featuring their names handwritten in calligraphy at the top and tucked into a custom die-cut pocket featuring a sketch of the cityscape of Nashville. These kinds of details invite guests to slow down, look closer, and truly experience the design. These purple menus looked amazing at each place setting.

The tablescapes were a work of art. With stunning floral arrangements, intentional linens, purple glassware, and the royal purple table numbers we created in a fun material, it was a sight to behold.

Fig Shaped Escort Cards and Interactive Seating Chart

One of the most playful and visually striking installations of the evening was the escort card display. Each guest experienced the seating chart installation, walking up the steps to find their escort card amongst the trees. Each escort card was die cut in the shape of a fig, with the guest name and table number in calligraphy. The organic movement of the cards, paired with their unexpected shape, created a moment that felt immersive and artful. The trees framed a large arch display of the Nashville Skyline, which mimicked the design of the bar signage we also created.

Statement Bar Signage

The bar signage featured semi-circle acrylic designs in custom colors that tied seamlessly into the event palette. Each piece incorporated a stylized Nashville cityscape, reinforcing the visual story throughout the space. The curved shapes softened the overall look while still feeling modern and bold, a perfect complement to the venue’s aesthetic.

Custom Bar signage in purple hues | elevated event details

While guests grabbed a drink at the bar, they could also grab one of the cocktail napkins or matchbooks we designed.  For the cocktail napkins, we had two designs. One in a bright green hue that featured the event theme, Lush Hues and Lavish Views, on it, adding a vibrant pop of color. The second napkin design was a soft lavender color that showcased a delicate line sketch of the Nashville skyline, tying back to the invitation suite.

Next to the napkins in a bowl, were the light purple matchbooks that carried the event branding, offering guests a stylish and functional keepsake from the evening. Each element worked together to create a layered, cohesive design story that felt intentional from start to finish.

Custom Onsite Engraving Experience

To make the evening even more memorable, we brought in a live engraving station, which is one of our favorite ways to elevate a guest experience.

Attendees received compact mirrors engraved on-site, creating a personalized keepsake they could take home. Watching the engraving process unfold added an interactive element to the event, while the finished pieces felt thoughtful, elevated, and truly one-of-a-kind.

Immersive Design Experience

The WIPA Nashville Gala at 1 Hotel was a celebration of creativity, community, and elevated design. The Lush Hues & Lavish Views brought in creative design elements that were thoughtfully woven through the day creating an immersive experience for all in attendance. Seeing the joy on everyone’s face as they witnessed the various day-of event details was a highlight. It was truly an honor to be a part of such an amazing event for such a wonderful group of professionals. The wedding industry in the Southeast is filled with incredibly talented people, and I’m so grateful to be part of a community that continues to inspire me every day.

Custom Signage and Details for Nashville Wedding at Diamond Creek Farm

At White Ink Calligraphy + Co, we believe wedding design is about more than beautiful details.  It’s about creating a cohesive and memorable experience for guests that fully encapsulates our clients’ wedding vision. Kansas and Don’s wedding at Diamond Creek Farm in Nashville was filled with intentional, elegant, and meaningful design moments. As a full-service wedding design house, it was such a joy to bring their vision to life and create custom signage and details for their special day.

Kansas was a stunning bride. Her off-shoulder wedding dress featured long-sleeves and intricate lace details . What I loved even more though, was that the bride is a florist. I absolutely love working with fellow creatives, as they appreciate things like texture, composition, and detail on a deeper level. Kansas brought such thoughtful intention to every element, and together we created pieces that felt refined yet personal.

Custom Ceremony & Welcome Signage

Guests were greeted as they arrived at Diamond Creek Farm by a frosted glass welcome sign framed in gold and featuring soft white calligraphy. There’s something about frosted glass that feels elevated and romantic. The welcome sign was framed by soft florals that further elevated the entire installation.

Displayed at the ceremony was a custom sign reading Pick a seat, not a side! You are loved by both the groom & Bride.” This simple phrase set such a warm tone and emphasized the value Kansas and Don place on unity and togetherness. We also designed a cloth wedding sign that made for a great photo background for the bride and groom.

The Seating Chart Installation

After a touching ceremony, guests could find their seating assignment from the white seating chart columns. I love the clean, architectural, and timeless design we were able to create with these.  For this installation we collaborated with Blue Fish Event Rentals, which is always such a treat. They do amazing work and our partnership allows us to dream bigger and execute seamlessly. The crisp black calligraphy against the white columns felt modern yet classic, perfectly complementing the overall aesthetic of the day.

Elevated Reception Details

The reception design layered texture, color, and movement in thoughtful ways. We designed the acrylic bar signage in a plum color with white calligraphy.

At the tables, white place cards identified each guest’s seat and had ribbons attached in different colors to indicate meal selections-a functional and beautiful addition!

The custom menus we designed featured a black vellum overlay adorned with pink florals and secured by a gold pin  that allowed guests to gently spin the overlay upward to reveal the menu beneath. Interactive details like this create a tactile experience, which are always my favorite.

Lastly, stone table numbers brought an organic, textural element to the already beautiful tablescape.

Handmade Paper with Personal Touches

A fun detail we created were the handmade paper displays that featured fun facts about Kansas and Don, which sat at the head table. It’s these unexpected, and fun details that guests remember and truly make the day yours.

Kansas and Don’s wedding is such a beautiful example of what happens when every detail is thoughtfully designed and intentionally placed. From custom signage and deatails to handmade paper goods, every piece worked together to tell a cohesive story and create a memorable experience for all those in attendance.

Light Spring Colors & Playful, Personalized Details from Cherokee Dock Nashville Wedding

When designing paper goods and day-of details for weddings, we always strive to bring cohesion to the design. We did just that for this Cherokee Dock Nashville wedding. The couple, Madison and Jackson, dreamed of a celebration filled with soft spring colors, thoughtful touches, and a hint of fun. We took their ideas and wove their vision and colors into every element we created, bringing their vision to life. From the invitation suite to the late-night snack boxes, this wedding was full of creativity, color, and personality.

A Soft, Spring-Inspired Invitation Suite

We started with an invitation suite inspired by airy spring hues. The palette centered around light blue, white, and a soft sherbet orange, which instantly set a fresh and joyful tone for the day.

For the envelopes, we used a dusty blue color that was the foundation of the wedding day design. The envelopes featured the couple’s monogram and a custom floral-patterned envelope liner created with the wedding’s signature orange hue accent color.

The main invitation was white with light blue calligraphy. The details card was similar but stood out with a thick sherbet-orange border. The entire suite was then wrapped in a vellum band in the same light orange color showcasing a custom sketch of Cherokee Dock in a deep blue.

The suite felt polished yet playful and gave guests an early glimpse into the wedding day ahead.

Wedding Day-of Details

For the ceremony, we designed a white welcome sign featuring sherbet orange lettering, keeping everything soft, clean, and cohesive.

Guests also received program fans, which served a dual purpose of sharing the ceremony details while offering much-needed relief from the Tennessee heat. Practical and beautiful—our favorite combination.

Fun, Colorful Details at the Bar

We created bar inserts showcasing the signature light blue color pattern. This same pattern could later be found on the table linens created seamless design that carried through the wedding day. On top of the bar, guests found custom orange napkins and white stir sticks with an orange flower sketch, bringing an extra pop of color. It’s always the small touches that make the biggest impact.

Seating Chart Display

We created a framed seating chart wall with a gallery light, giving it the look of a curated art installation. The clean, structured design brought an elevated feel to the reception entrance.

Reception Details That Tied Everything Together

As guests entered the reception, they located their seats using the frosted acrylic table numbers and white place cards we designed. Notice anything familiar?  Here are the table linens I mentioned earlier featuring the same light blue pattern from the bar fronts! The repeating pattern created a seamless, intentional design, which is our speciality.

We also designed the frosted cups used throughout the evening, which doubled as wedding favors. Each cup featured the Cherokee Dock sketch from the vellum band, this time printed in light orange, paired with the couple’s initials and wedding date in soft blue. It was the perfect blend of chic and fun.

A Playful Late-Night Snack Moment

The wedding ended with a little late night snack of burgers and fries that were served in custom burger and fry boxes we designed! The white burger boxes featured a bold orange circle centered on the lid with the couple’s monogram in white. The fry boxes leaned retro with white-and-red stripes and a yellow circle holding the same monogram.

This final detail brought so much personality and nostalgia. It was impossible not to smile when you saw them. Not only that, but they were truly so much fun to create.

A Spring Wedding Filled With Creativity and Color

This Cherokee Dock celebration was the perfect mix of polished design, soft springtime color, and playful, personalized details. Every piece from the invitations to food packaging was created with intention and cohesive design in mind. It was an honor to bring Madison and Jackson’s wedding vision to life.

Saint Elle Wedding | Classic Black & White Details With a Modern Twist

Saint Elle Wedding | Classic Black & White Details With a Modern Twist

It was such a joy to design classic black and white wedding invitations and day-of details for Eva and Francesco’s Saint Elle Wedding. The entire celebration centered around an timeless and elevated black-and-white palette, and our paper goods became the thread that tied everything together. Everything from the playful save the dates that imitated a plane ticket, to the meaningful displays guests interacted with throughout the day was created with purpose. Eva and Francesco infused their personalities and story into every detail, giving us the opportunity to create something meaningful, elevated, and uniquely them.

Classic, Elevated Invitations With a Modern Edge

Their invitation suite laid the foundation for the black-and-white theme, with a modern structure and layered textures. Their suite was proof that modern doesn’t mean minimal. Eva & Francesco wanted a suite that felt personal, polished, and completely their own. So we leaned into sculptural shapes, high-contrast tones, and luxe gold foil to make every piece feel intentional. We designed the main invitation in a white tombstone shape for a striking yet classic focal point. The additional paper pieces layered neatly into the suite, and each card alternated in color of white, black, and cream, indicating the main colors of their wedding day.  It was the perfect balance of clean, elevated, and effortlessly chic.

And don’t miss the save the date; designed to look like a plane ticket for their destination-inspired day. A first-class way to kick things off, if you ask us.

Seating Chart Wall Featuring Their Engagement Photos

This was a first for us, and now we’re obsessed! When the bride asked if we could include their engagement photos on the seating chart, we said absolutely yes.  We had fun with this request, designing a seating chart that became an instant showstopper. The result was a black and white moment that felt like part art gallery, part seating chart, and fully them.

The sleek black display wall, we added the white lettering to display the guest names and their table assignment. Then on each side, framing the display we showcased an engagement photo. At the top corner of the display, their names, Eva & Francesco, framed the design beautifully. On the opposite side, we added a sweet personal touch with the phrase: “Tennessee made us sweethearts. Find your seat and let’s celebrate.” It added warmth, storytelling, and just the right amount of Southern charm.

A Cowboy Hat Guestbook Wall

It’s no secret that Nashville is all about country music. To honor a bit of their story, personality, and the city where they tied the knot, they included a cowboy hat guestbook wall, which might have been my favorite detail of the entire day.  Not only was it unique and memorable, it created a playful and completely memorable moment for guests, as they couldn’t wait to leave their mark.

The black display wall featured their last name, “The Pulvinos,” in bold white lettering centered at the top. Below, we mounted one black and one white cowboy hat for guests to sign, along with a small cocktail table placed in front to hold pens. It perfectly captured the couple’s love for Nashville while remaining clean and elevated.

A custom Cowboy Hat Guestbook Wall

Menus, Bar Signage, & Table Numbers

To round out the day-of details, we carried the black-and-white palette through everything including the welcome sign and classic white menus set against black paper at each place setting. On the elegant tablescape were the table numbers we created that coordinated with the seating chart.  The custom bar signage we did featured an adorable illustration of their dog.

Every piece tied back to the invitation suite and the classic, black-and-white destination theme, creating a cohesive, high-end design experience from the moment guests arrived.

This Saint Elle wedding was such a beautiful example of how a classic palette can still feel fresh, modern, and deeply personal. Between the black-and-white details, meaningful installations, and thoughtful touches throughout the day, Eva and Francesco created a celebration that was elevated but still uniquely theirs. It was such an honor to bring their vision to life by designing their invitations and day-of-details.

Cedarmont Farm Textured Wedding Details | Invitations & Day of Details

Recently featured in The Wren, this Cedarmont Farm wedding editorial was an absolute dream to create for. The entire design concept centered around texture, warmth, and timeless romance, and we wanted every detail of the paper goods and signage to reflect that. I am in love with the results from these Cedarmont Farm textured wedding details.

A Warm, Earthy Vision for This Cedarmont Farm Wedding

Set among the rolling hills of Franklin, Tennessee, Cedarmont Farm is a venue that beautifully blends historic charm with modern touches. Its elegant interiors made it the perfect backdrop for this editorial. Our goal was to pull as much texture as possible into each stationery and signage element.

Elegant and Classic Textured Invitation Suite

The invitation suite set the tone for the event with handmade, textured paper and a classic wax seal for an organic yet elevated look. We paired the suite with light tan envelopes. The combination of warm neutrals and refined materials perfectly echoed the editorial’s color palette inspired by Pantone’s Mocha Mousse.

Day-of Details: Fabric Signage

For the bar signage and seating chart, we continued the theme of texture and flow with custom fabric signage, which brought a sense of cohesion to the space. The seating chart flowed in the wind as was placed outside in the seating area. The bar sign was a statement piece as it draped over the front of the bar listing all the beverages available.

Fabric continued to take center stage as we created fabric menus that draped effortlessly across each place setting, adding softness and movement to the tablescape.

To complement the other design elements, we also incorporated leather place cards. Each detail worked together to create a cohesive visual narrative that invited you to see and feel the design. This vibe was enhanced by the muted floral tones and boho-inspired flower arrangements that decorated the space adding movement and beauty.
