Custom Ravenswood Wedding Details

by | Jul 9, 2026 | Invitation Suite, Seating Charts

There are some weddings where every detail comes together so beautifully, and this celebration at Ravenswood was definitely one of them! We had the pleasure of designing the invitation suite and several of the wedding day’s details, creating a cohesive look that carried from the first impression in the mailbox to the reception celebration. This wedding was such a fun one to work on and I loved getting to know the bride’s mother, who was heavily involved with our design process. She was so great to work with, and I loved collaborating with her to bring to life the vision her and her daughter had for the wedding!

An Invitation Suite That Set the Tone

Every wedding design begins somewhere, and I am a firm believer that the invitation suite always sets the tone for your wedding day. It is an opportunity to give guests a glimpse into what your day will look and feel like. I love including elements that are then carried through the wedding day. We did just that for these custom wedding invitations.

We incorporated a printed vellum wrap that introduced bright pops of color. The envelope liner introduced artwork that would later make an appearance on the seating chart, while the couple’s custom crest on the main invite would also be seen on various wedding day details.

A Seating Chart That Made a Statement

One of my favorite elements from this wedding was the custom seating chart installation. We carried the envelope liner artwork from the invitation suite into the seating chart design, creating a connection between the paper guests received at home and the details waiting for them at the reception.

We also designed the back of the seating chart to be just as beautiful, incorporating the couple’s custom crest and monogram. Positioned toward the reception, it became a decorative backdrop during speeches, giving the installation a second purpose beyond helping guests find their seats. It’s a detail that might not be the first thing you think about when planning your seating chart, but considering how an installation will look from every angle can make such a difference.

We really enjoyed seeing the lighting on the seating chart in use! While we always love a beautiful natural-light photograph of a seating chart, there’s something especially fun about seeing this one at night, with the lights illuminating the display. It looked just as beautiful after the sun went down!

The seating chart installation also featured white columns on either side with custom lettering. One read “Our Favorite People,” while another displayed “From Texas to Tennessee,” a sweet nod to the couple’s story. These are the kinds of details I love most. They serve a purpose, but they also add personality and meaning to the overall design.

We also incorporated bamboo gold frames for the tabletop signage and the individual seating assignments displayed on the wall. The warm gold finish complemented the surrounding design while adding a polished, timeless touch.

Sailcloth Tent Reception at Ravenswood

If you’re familiar with the wedding industry around here, you know a sailcloth tent at Ravenswood is something special! However, I have to admit, I wish I’d thought to suggest custom flags at the top of the tent. It would have been so fun and cute! It’s always exciting to look back at a beautiful wedding and imagine the additional ways we could personalize a space!

That’s one of the things I love about custom event design. There are so many opportunities to incorporate meaningful details, whether through paper goods, signage, or larger design elements that become part of the overall setting and truly make the days yours.

Another detail I loved was the welcome table. The planner, Dana McCollum, loves creating a welcome table rather than simply placing a welcome sign at the entrance. I love this approach as it adds another opportunity to customize your day.Β

For this wedding welcome table, the table featured beautiful blue and white vases and thoughtfully styled details that made it feel like a design moment in its own right. The gold-framed signage we created looked amazing on the table and introduced guests to the aesthetic of the celebration upon arrival.Β

The reception details continued with individual place cards, each displayed in its own base, which is a simple way to elevate the table!Β Β

Looking back at this Ravenswood wedding, what stands out most is how all the pieces worked together and created a visually stunning day that told the couple’s story and brought their vision to life!
