There’s something magical about being part of a venue’s very first event, and that’s exactly how we felt walking into The Sloane for the first time. This brand new wedding venue, nestled in the heart of historic Germantown just 5 minutes from Nashville, is bright and modern. With its tall vaulted ceilings and light-filled spaces, it provided the perfect blank canvas to bring this vibrant, colorful editorial to life. We were honored to be one of the first vendors inside this new venue for a photoshoot, and even more thrilled to create the wedding invitations and paper goods in collaboration with one of our longtime favorite planners, Kelsey Rae Designs, who brought the vision together in the most beautiful way.
Marigold Wedding Invitations That Pop
Let’s talk color! Because when a marigold envelope arrives in your mailbox, it’s not going unnoticed! Color is one of our favorite ways to elevate a paper suite, and for this shoot, a rich marigold hue was the star. We used a yellow envelope with a striped liner featuring a floral design of a marigold to set the tone. We then carried that motif to the save the dates and information cards. This bright and cheerful invitation suit is definitely one that guests will remember, perfectly setting the tone and vibe of the wedding day.
Layering Texture and Tone
At the venue, stunning, yellow floral displays were set up in the ceremony space. The bride carried her own bouquet of light and darker yellow flowers. Then for the reception, white and yellow arrangements sat in low vases at the center of the table, bringing a cohesiveness that tied everything together.
While the bold yellow made a statement, we also wanted to balance the palette with softer, grounded details. On the reception tables, peach-toned menus rested atop marigold napkins, adding warmth and elegance. Our dark green place cards featured crisp white calligraphy for contrast and depth. It was a small detail, but one that elevated each place setting and pulled the entire look together.
A Dreamy New Space in Nashville
If you’re a couple dreaming of a fresh, inviting, upscale venue, The Sloane is definitely one to have on your radar. Its clean architecture, gorgeous natural light, and flexible event spaces make it the perfect canvas for any wedding design. We loved seeing how the bright pops of yellow transformed the white ceremony backdrop and how every vendor worked together to bring this joyful concept to life. One thing is certain, creating wedding invitations that pop and set the tone for the wedding day ahead is not only our specialty, but our favorite thing to do!

When it comes to wedding invitations, green is a color we’ll never stop reaching for. Whether it’s soft sage, deep emerald, or a muted olive, green truly works like a neutral as it pairs beautifully with florals, practically every color on the spectrum, and even bold patterns. It’s elegant yet still allows for playful creativity. At White Ink Calligraphy + Co., we’ve had the joy of bringing several green invitation suites to life, and we’re sharing a few of our favorites today to show how this gorgeous hue can set the tone for an elevated and memorable celebration.
Green Invitation Suites for Every Wedding Style
Refined Letterpress Suite
This suite is a perfect example of how green can bring together classic romance and elegance. Designed with luxurious letterpress printing and a custom monogram, Adaline’s suite felt like a work of art from the very first glance.
My favorite detail from this suite, besides the color, is the custom watercolor painting of the venue featured on the envelope liner, setting the tone before guests even opened the invitation. Pulling the invitation out from the beautiful envelopes, guests would find the suite tied together with a wax seal and soft ribbon, a finishing touch that felt as elevated as the day itself. We also added spot calligraphy to the main invitation card for a personal, hand-touched feel, along with matching calligraphed envelopes. Every detail reflected the couple’s vision for a refined and heartfelt celebration.
Gatefold Green Suite
This next invitation suite took a modern yet timeless approach. The centerpiece was a single gatefold card printed digitally and sealed with a custom swan wax seal, a charming detail that made an appearance on the invitation as well. A green design of vines and flowers on the custom envelope liner was carried through the invitation design, decorating the cover and the inside of the gatefold invitation. We also designed a coordinating rehearsal dinner card that made the whole suite feel seamless and curated.
Whimsical Invitation Suite
For this whimsical invitation suite it was all about soft, romantic charm. Digitally printed and tied with a delicate chiffon ribbon, the pieces felt light and inviting. The real showstopper was the envelope liner, which featured an illustrated pattern of birds reminiscent of classic chinoiserie prints. It added the perfect touch of whimsy to this otherwise classic design.
We also created matching save the dates that guests received prior to and hinted at the beauty to come. This suite is proof that green doesn’t have to feel overly formal. It can be playful and fun, while still displaying elegance.
Why Green Works for Every Wedding Style
Green’s versatility is what makes it shine. It plays well with every season and complements a wide range of colors and themes, from garden romance and historical venues to modern minimalism and fine art design. It adds a grounded, organic, and elevated feel to the suite, whether it’s worked into the paper, the printing, or the embellishments (hello, ribbon and wax seals!).
At White Ink, we treat green as a neutral not just because it pairs with everything, but because it feels natural, elegant, and rooted in timeless design.

Michelle and Daniel’s colorful and bookish wedding in Washington, DC was an unforgettable celebration. Hosted at two of the city’s most beautiful and historic venues, The White Meyer House for the ceremony and The Meridian House for the reception, the day was a perfect blend of mid-century style and the era of the venue. With rich jewel tones and eco-conscious design choices, their vision was both vibrant and intentional. White Ink Calligraphy + Co, was honored to contribute to their celebration through a gorgeous invitation suite and day-of details that were full of intention and brought their story to life.
An Invitation Suite That Set the Stage
From the very first moment guests opened their invitations, it was clear this wedding would be anything but ordinary. The invitation suite featured handmade plum cardstock, pressed with luminous foil calligraphy. An epic floral envelope liner set the tone for their day and made a repeat appearance in other day of details! A bright magenta RSVP card offered a joyful contrast and an unexpected pop of color, while hand-calligraphed envelopes gave a nod to the couple’s love of personalized, elevated design.
The couple’s love of color and the stylish nod to the mid-century era of their venue came through in every detail, and we had so much fun weaving those themes throughout our work.
Colorful and Bookish Washington DC Wedding
The invitation palette carried seamlessly into the reception at the iconic Meridian House. The mint green walls of the room created a striking contrast to the deep plum linens, purple glassware, and coordinating menus. Even the chairs featured plum and dark teal hues, adding to the rich colors that all worked together.
Each guest’s place card doubled as a keepsake, which was a beautifully printed bookmark that featured the same floral design from the invitation suite’s envelope liner. With bookshelves lining the reception space, the detail couldn’t have been more fitting. In fact, other bookish details were also woven into their wedding, like their vintage, library card inspired seating chart!
Vintage Library Card Seating Chart
One of the most creative and personal touches of the day was the seating chart. Vintage library cards printed with guest names and table number assignments were framed and displayed on a bookshelf alongside vintage books. This thoughtful design element was visually striking and a perfect match for the bookish charm and character of the venue.
Michelle and Daniel brought their personalities into every aspect of their day, and it was such a joy to help them tell their story through their invitations and details.

Some weddings are so full of thoughtful details and genuine heart, they stay with you long after it has ended. Blaise and Michael’s romantic Barnsley Resort wedding is absolutely one of those. Their March wedding at the historic Georgia venue was the perfect blend of classic elegance and unique personal touches. Barnsley Resort was the ideal setting for Blaise and Michael’s big day. Nestled in the Georgia countryside, the venue offers the best of both indoor elegance and outdoor romance. Floral arches brimming with greenery and white blooms created a storybook setting for both the ceremony and reception. The lush, vine-covered installations brought a sense of natural whimsy to the space, complementing the aesthetic and details perfectly.
We had the joy of working with Sofia Ocampo Events for the first time on this wedding. She is a talented planner based in Atlanta who we’ve become great friends with through networking events. Getting to collaborate with someone local (and so lovely!) was just the cherry on top of an already meaningful project. Then, there was the beautiful bride, Blaise, who was a dream client! As her elevated vision took shape, I grew more excited to work on each detail of this wedding. I just knew it was going to be spectacular. She fully trusted us to bring her style to life and we had so much fun designing a wide range of paper goods and day of details for this celebration!
A Soft, Elegant Palette
Blaise’s chosen colors of white and steel blue set a calming and sophisticated tone for the day. From the very beginning, we wove these hues into all the details, starting with the letter-pressed invitation suite on soft white and blue cardstock. A custom monogram graced the top of the invitation and made repeat appearances on other details throughout the wedding we created, including the programs and cocktail napkins. When couples are this intentional about design, the whole day feels effortlessly cohesive.
The couple married outside near the gorgeous gardens at the venue. After saying “I do”, guests mingled on the property enjoying cocktails. The signature cocktail bar sign was another one of my favorite details. The steel blue sign with white wording, was made complete with a fun, white tassel. Along with the custom bar signs, we also designed the monogrammed cocktail napkins.
Seating Chart Display
As guests made their way inside for the reception, they were greeted by a wallpapered seating chart display with framed cards listing the table assignments. It was a beautifully curated focal point. I also love that the pattern on the wallpaper made an appearance on several other details, including the inlay of the bars, tablecloths at the reception, and surrounding the monogram detail on the invitations and programs. Absolute perfection!
There was also an audio guestbook sign we created that was on display next to an old school telephone booth where guests could leave their messages and well wishes. This was another unique and fun detail that guests loved and really made their wedding stand out.
Unique + Custom Ribbon Place Cards
The place cards definitely need their own spotlight because they were just that good! Die-cut ribbon place cards in a light blue color, were each hand-calligraphed with guests’ names. One of my favorite moments was catching a photo of a guest snapping a picture of her place card on her phone, which made my calligrapher heart so happy! These place cards were just so fun and different from the usual, and definitely left an impression on guests!
Accompanying the custom place cards, were the die-cut menus that sat atop each napkin at the table, adding a modern spin to the timeless tablescape. These tablescapes were a total highlight, featuring simple white florals with pops of blue and abundant greenery, paired with the paper details that tied everything together.
Memorable Custom Table Numbers
One of the most charming and memorable elements was a nod to Blaise’s career as a teacher. Instead of traditional table numbers, she had her third-grade students write “advice” for the couple. Each table featured a different note from her students, and they were as hilarious as they were heartfelt. One of our favorites:
“If you have a fight you should solve it out, hug it out, talk about your point of view and let him talk about his. And ask your dog if you shall forgive him.” – Zareya W.
That is solid advice from a third grader! These custom table numbers added so much personality to the reception. It’s these thoughtful, personal touches that truly make a wedding day unforgettable. I also love that Blaise wanted to include her students in her big day. It says so much about her love and dedication to her students!
From the Invitations to the place cards and everything in between, every element was intentional and cohesive, speaking to the couples’ dreamy wedding day vision. Blaise and Michael’s wedding was one to remember and it was an honor to be a part of it!

When a wedding takes place in one of the most iconic hotels in Nashville you know it’s going to be a good one! Once a bustling railroad terminal, Union Station Hotel is now a stunning luxury hotel, still brimming with its original architecture, that includes arches, stained-glass windows, and endless historical charm. The gothic exterior design is one that demands attention. It’s a venue where history and elegance collide, setting the perfect tone for a celebration as beautiful and meaningful as Kate and Jon’s dreamy wedding.
To play a part in their big day by creating their custom invitation suite, menus, and place cards was such an honor. The sweet bride, Kate, found us on Instagram, which is always so flattering! She was a dream to work with, as we couldn’t have asked for a more gracious, fun, and lovely client. Her dreamy wedding day vision paired beautifully with the character and charm of the hotel.
Lavender Wedding Invitations and Details
One detail we absolutely adored about this wedding was the color palette. Lavender isn’t a color we get to work with often in invitations. It brought such a fresh, romantic feel to each element. It also beautifully tied into the wedding day itself, where shades of purple were thoughtfully woven throughout the florals, the groom’s custom jacket liner, bridesmaids’ dresses, and even the bride’s veil, which featured the most gorgeous floral embroidery. Seriously, the veil was a work of art!
The custom invitation suite featured elegant white and lavender card stock, with delicate calligraphy bringing everything to life. The suite was wrapped with a custom-designed purple band showcasing an illustration of the historic Union Station as a nod to the incredible venue that would set the scene for their day.
Inside, the envelope liner greeted guests with a burst of colorful florals. This offered a playful hint to all the vibrant flower details that would later decorate their ceremony and reception spaces. As a special gesture because we loved working with Kate so much, we shared with her the floral artwork we used for the invitation suite, and she used that to create the groom’s pocket square. It was a small but meaningful detail that spoke volumes about the couple’s thoughtful approach to design.
Elegant Day-of Touches
Alongside the invitation suite, we also created the folded place cards, which featured the same elegant calligraphy as the invitations, adding a cohesive and sophisticated touch to the guest tables.
To tie the pieces together, the custom menus we created featured the same colorful floral design that was seen on the envelope liner. At the reception, these menus were tucked into the sage green napkins next to the place cards, creating a beautiful place setting for guests.
The tablescapes were stunning! Along with the paper goods, stunning floral arrangements decorated the center of the tables, and flickering candlelight added to the romantic setting. EBJ & Company did an amazing job planning and coordinating, as everything came together beautifully.
Kate and Jon’s Union Station wedding blended old-world charm with fresh, personal style in the most perfect way. Being able to contribute to their day was such an honor for our team at White Ink Calligraphy.

If we had to sum up this New Orleans wedding in three words, they’d be: elevated, eclectic, and unforgettable. Held at the iconic Race and Religious venue in New Orleans, Louisiana Katie and Derek’s wedding was one for the books. Everything from the fashion to the florals, and of course, the incredible wedding details we had the honor of creating for our couple was just out of this world amazing.
As a Nashville-based wedding photographer herself, the beautiful bride, Katie, knew what she wanted when it came to her wedding aesthetic. We were beyond flattered when she chose White Ink Calligraphy to design her custom invitation suite and day-of details. She brought such a fun, bold energy to the planning process, and her vibe translated beautifully into every design choice.
Bold and Fun Custom Wedding Invitation Suite
I’m just going to say it: this was our favorite invitation suite of the entire year! Every piece told a story, starting with the main invitation in bright, fun yellow that featured an illustration of an olive, which was an adorable nod to the bride’s sweet pup whose name is Olive. Personal touches like this are what take wedding paper goods to the next level, and this suite had plenty of them.
The RSVP card doubled as a vintage hotel key, complete with a sketch of the venue on one side and a QR code on the other for guests to easily reply. A blue card cut in the exact shape of the pool at Race and Religious was another favorite element of ours from this custom invitation suite. Each piece of the suite featured a different bright and bold color that had a tropical feel.
The final component was a green envelope with palm tree liner. Before ever opening the invitation, guests got a glimpse of what was to come with an illustration of alligator on the front, and stamps that provided subtle hints to the wedding’s Louisiana location. The entire suite was thoughtfully curated and unapologetically fun, just like the bride herself. It’s also such a wonderful example of setting the tone for a wedding and providing fun surprises for guests.
Bold Day-of Details with a New Orleans Twist
We kept the personality going strong with equally creative and unexpected day-of details. When you hear New Orleans, you think of Mardi Gras, and we wanted to lean into that a bit. To incorporate a little Mardi Gras flair, we used Mardi Gras beads for the seating chart. Guests found their tables by locating Mardi Gras beads hanging on the venue’s iron gate, with their name and table number attached to each strand. So NOLA. So FUN. This was such a hit and everyone wore their Mardi Gras beads all night!
NOLA Wedding Ceremony and Reception
This wedding was a tropical dream! After a stunning ceremony by a pool surrounded in florals and palm trees, guests gathered on the patio for cocktails. A fabric bar sign listed the different drinks available adding texture and movement to the space, which we love! This one tied the whole cocktail setup together with gorgeous florals sitting on top of the bar framing the fabric sign.
The tablescapes at the venue were just beautiful. The florals were stunning with pops of bright pink and orange. At each place setting were the playful menus we designed shaped like palm trees. Oyster Place Cards were also at each seat as a nod to local flavor and southern charm, adding an elegance to the setting.
From the smallest element to the biggest moments, every detail celebrated the vibrant spirit of New Orleans while staying true to the couple’s personal style.
At White Ink Calligraphy, we believe your wedding should reflect you. This wedding was a perfect example of what happens when a couple fully leans into their style and vision by choosing details that are both meaningful and fun. Bringing this wedding day to life in the vibrant city of New Orleans was such an honor and so much fun. We’re still not over it! Katie and Derek’s wedding is definitely one we will always remember!
